On Saturday, August 11, union members and friends from across the country will join together in Philadelphia to focus the public debate in the upcoming elections on what average Americans need – good schools, good jobs and an investment in the middle class.
As part of the Workers Stand for America campaign and August 11 rally, working Americans will be asked to sign a Second Bill of Rights that sets forth principles that should guide government, business leaders, organizations and individuals in our common goal of a just and fair society. They are:
• The Right to Full Employment and a Living Wage
• The Right to Full Participation in the Electoral Process
• The Right to a Voice at Work
• The Right to a Quality Education
• The Right to a Secure, Healthy Future
AFT Pennsylvania urges members, their families and friends to join labor and its allies in Philadelphia at a family-friendly event featuring celebrities, media personalities, activities and unity with workers from all across the commonwealth and the country.
