York CTE support staff wins 5-year deal

The York Vocational-Technical Support Staff Local 4467, has ratified a five-year contract unanimously.

The contract provides annual salary increases of between 3 percent t and 5 percent each year of the agreement. The contract goes into effect July 1, 2019.

It gives employees cumulative longevity increases of $.25 at 5 years, $.50 at 10 years, and $.50 at 15 years and increases the sick-day retirement payout from $39 per day to $75 per day for full timers, and from $19 per day to $40 per day for part timers.

Support staff also agreed to no increase in employee contributions to healthcare premiums in the first year, and contribution increases of one-half of one percent a year in the following years. They will also pay a small increase in deductibles begining in 2020-21.

The CTE union represents 17 support staff members. Donna Finn is president of the union, which represents secretaries, maintenance employees and cafeteria workers.
