Budget Impasse Legal Update
The background on this case is in a previous posting on this web page entitled Budget Impasse Update. A number of Republican legislators and committees have filed friend of the court briefs in support of the position of the unions.
The U.S. Department of Labor has announced that it has begun an investigation into the Commonwealth’s practice of payless paydays. No further individual complaints are necessary and all affected employees will be covered by this investigation. No timeframe was given concerning the length of the investigation.
